Our Projects

Kiwanis is a not for profit organization of volunteers that focuses on local service. Kiwanis is committed to changing the world one child and one community at a time and through our many service projects, scholarships, and community grants, we assist our community.

 

Our Current Club Service Projects

In The Schools ...

  • Since 1995, The Kiwanis Club of Safety Harbor has provided more than $100,000 Doorway/Take Stock in Children Scholarships to school children in the Safety Harbor community. The scholarships go to qualified Safety Harbor students attending elementary and middle school through the Pinellas Education Foundation and are matched by the state.  
  •  Honor a Student of the Month from Safety Harbor and McMullen Booth elementary schools and Safety Harbor Middle School.
  • Sponsor K (Kiwanis) Kids at Safety Harbor and Leila G. Davis elementary schools.
  • Sponsor Builders Club at Safety Harbor Middle School.
  • Sponsor the Kiwanis Key Club at Clearwater Central Catholic and Calvary Christian high schools.
  • Sponsor BUGS (Bringing Up Grades) at Safety Harbor, McMullen Booth, Leila G. Davis, and Eisenhower elementary schools by providing mentors for the students.
  • Support clubs and extracurricular activities at Countryside High School.
  • Sponsor classroom partnerships at Safety Harbor elementary and middle schools.
  • Donate books to Safety Harbor Elementary library and classrooms.

 

At The Mattie Williams Neighborhood Family Center ...

  • Support Mattie Williams Neighborhood Family Center financially and with volunteer hours.
  • Support the Mayor’s breakfast each year. The proceeds are used for holiday food and gift baskets.
  • Provide gifts and food for needy children at Christmas.
  • Sponsor the backpack project to provide students with backpacks and school supplies and volunteer in their stuffing and delivery.
  • Provide volunteer hours at the center.

 

In The Community ...

  • Support City of Safety Harbor recreational programs.
  • Support both local Boy and Girl Scouts clubs.
  • Support the Safety Harbor Regional Museum of History monetarily.
  • Support "Paint Your Heart Out Safety Harbor”.
  • Sponsor Sunrise Easter Service at City Marina.
  • Provide volunteers for the Seafood Festival, Wine Fest, Harbor Sounds and Third Friday.
  • Respond IMMEDIATELY to a wide variety of special needs brought to our attention.

 

Beyond The Community ...

  • Donate money, baby items and volunteer hours to the Kimberly Home.
  • Donate money to Clothes to Kids.
  • Provide cloth diapers to Healthy Start Pinellas.
  • Provided Santa party with gifts for students and their siblings at High Point Head Start.
